Disabled Travellers.

Paris is not an easy city for disabled people ("handicapés") . The larger part of transport network is simply unaccessible to wheelchairs : endless stairs in metro or small doors in buses make travelling a nightmare. In the metro, only line 14 "Meteor" is fully accessible. Some RER stations can be reached with the help of employees who open private doors and service lifts. Not so practical !

Buses are one by one renewed with wheelchair equipments and sound announces.

The typical and anarchist parisian's way of parking cars makes wheelchair travelling a nightmare. And very few traffic light are equiped with sound signals for blind people.

Some grand car rental companies have specially equiped cars. Parking is free for cars with the disabled sticker but french people don't always respect reserved parking places !

Taxis are forced by law to accept and help disabled persons and to accept blind persons'dog. But, as usual, they sometimes don't care ! (see Taxis).

Some momunents, theaters or shop are equiped and some theaters have earing help devices or blind equipments (Comédie Française, Théâtre National de Chaillot for example)
