There are other DJs than David Guetta that the world is stealing from France !
It’s probably what Bruno Peguy was thinking when he started his now very popular Eyes need sugar parties. And enough with the gay parties where music is always the same tasteless and predictable vocal house, too. Once a month at the Scene Bastille, even though since last September the party is also visiting the Bains Douches, the Rex Club and the more and more decadent Maxim’s, he invites DJ Chloe, Jennifer Cardini or Alexkid to play for hundreds of gays and their friends elegant but not obscure electro music.
The crowd is mixed, often familiar with the music style or just fond of these eerie moments when you dive into a refined and stirring DJ set. The atmosphere is rather friendly and gets even charged with some sort of erotic tension towards the end : mini-orgies have been witnessed to start spontaneously right in the middle of the dancefloor. Nothing’s forbidden, except maybe being 2 in the toilets, and it’s unusual to go home alone if you don’t feel like it. It has to be said that the queue at the coat-check or the bar and the air conditioning have now been improved by the owners of the club.
The entrance fee is 10€ before 1:00am, 15€ after and the beverages go from 6€ for a beer (draught, if you please!) to 10€ for liquors and champagne. Only one mystery left to solve: why do our eyes need sugar? Well you just need to go and see for yourself…
